LABwiki

The Lab wiki will allow quick dissemination and rapid referencing to archived laboratory prep information. The wiki also allows for contemporary users to edit protocols on-the-fly; commenting on pitfalls, hints and tricks to prep and offering advice to staff as they run similar labs in the future.

The utility of this will be to provide rapidly searchable, relational and scalable database within which labs are profiled by keyword, program, title and planning unit. The typical Onion Root Tip lab could therefor be accessed by a simple click of the INS BIOLOGY link on the home page, via a search of the keyword MITOSIS or even providing information through a keyword of NUCLEAR STAIN resulting in a link to acridine orange or safranin.

The current goal with this page is to archive current and past labs with helpful prep comments from staff and faculty. In this manner we can get helpful information about an upcoming lab without needing advice from someone who may be in lab currently, out sick or on vacation. All staff and lab faculty will have password-protected access to it.

This wiki was set up through collaboration between Erik Ordway (who is sick of endlessly answering the same question) and Greg Dasso (who is sick of endlessly searching for the same answer).
