"Saving the Earth, One Edible Forest Garden at a Time" Thursday, May 7th, 2009 Lecture hall # 4 12 PM- 1:30 PM

Pat Rasmussen, one part of Terra Commons, has fought for the sacred rights of forests for decades on an international level, working with the Rainforest Action Coalition and other organizations. Currently, she works with the Olympia-based non-profit Terra Commons to establish edible forest gardens around the community. She will give a presentation on her past experiences with forest activism and her current local work.

Terra Commons is a non-profit network. We serve communities by researching, designing, and practicing habitat restoration, sustainable agriculture, and natural building. We believe that our patterns of land use and habitation are directly connected with the health of our biosphere and that of generations to come. Through our connections, we share in the responsibility of positively affecting the balance of economic, social, and ecological systems.

Terra Commons will be tabling throughout the conference.
