The Svalbard Global Seed Vault is located deep in the mountains of Svalbard " Blasted out of the permafrost (at about minus 3-4 degrees Celsius). The facility is designed to have an almost "endless" lifetime." Their active mission is to work with agricultural communities globally, " Ensuring that the genetic diversity of the world's food crops is preserved for future generations."
