Name or Focus of Cluster: Civic Intelligence Research and Action Laboratory

Statements Status: DRAFT

Mission: To help cultivate, sustain, and enrich relationships between the Evergreen community and communities in our local region and around the world that demonstrate and encourage civic intelligence.

Vision: To maintain a rich and productive balance of research and practice that meets high educational and academic standards while collaborating with communities in area of social and environmental amelioration that build capacity within the Evergreen community and society as a whole. To encourage student leadership and problem solving abilities.

Goals: Develop long-term

Major responsibilities:

  • Develop curriculum
  • Develop networks
  • Build capacity
  • Share informnaiton
  • work with faculty and relevant centers (especially the Center for Community Based Learning and Action)
  • Attract students
  • Develop community relations and jointly develop shared visions and collaborative projects
  • To build, sustain, and enrich student and group knowledge, tool-sets, online services and resources, and other products and services

Near term tasks:

  • Refine / develop list of skills for CIRAL
  • Refine / develop list of electronic services and resources for CIRAL
