About Me

"In the German alphabet, ß [Esset] is a letter that originated as a ligature of ss or sz. Like double 's', it is pronounced as an 's', but in standard spelling, it is only used after long vowels and diphthongs, while ss is used after short vowels."

So, basically, I'm a rebel.

Interests

Politically, or otherwise? They mesh a lot for me anyway, so, off the top of my head, [and then Esset realized that "Issues I'm interested in" is another category coming up.]

I'm interested in things that, frankly, sound a little ridiculous to consider broadcasting in wiki-format. It feels like I should be professional in here, or something.

Thoughts on Learning Objectives

I'd like to answer this in terms of "learning objectives" in general, rather than specifically "ours." I vastly prefer the notion of "learning objectives" to "grading points." I'm not really sure what it is about the two phrases, but there's this assumed difference between them that makes one sound hopeful and worthwhile, while the other comes across as stagnant and vaguely disgusting.

Issues I'm interested in

I'm interested in most things that can be considered "feminist" by people who aren't misogynists, bridging the gap between different social and economic classes, actively confronting my status as a privileged American (easier said than done), and generally being one of those pacifist liberal hippie vegans my mother was so worried I'd become.

Hi mom!
