Description
Erect, annual herb with white to pink flowers, growing to 80 cm tall.[2] Stems simple to branched, glabrous above and puberulent below,[2] often with internodal glandular bands.[3] Leaves opposite,[3] proximal margins ciliate; basal leaves spatulate to oblanceolate; cauline leaves linear to narrowly oblanceolate, 1-9 cm long.[4] Inflorescence cymose,[3] few to many flowered.[2]Flowers actinomorphic; calyx glabrous, 10-nerved, not papery;[3] petals 5, with a long, narrow claw and 2-lobed limb;[2] stamens 10, epipetalous;[3] styles 3,[4] ovary superior, becoming a 3-celled capsule.[2]
